I read this book on my winter vacation. Actually this is my first time to reading English novel,So I choose the Kira-Kira to be my book review because this book is easy to understand and it's a beautiful story about a family and illness and racial discrimination. Sometime I really think this book is a "watercolor painting of a book", and it describe an unforgettable story.

I really like the author use the Kira-Kira this ward for glittering, and this ward is also a favorite of both Lynn and Katie, they like use to describe things such as blue of the sky, the clear and deep of a person’s eyes, and the sparkles that the light makes as it glints off the waves of the sea.

Sometime I think this book is a lesson, When I read this novel, it’s really shock to me, Sometime the warm feeling fill my heart the two sister’s relationship is so sweetly ,Katie loves and trust in and admiration for her older sister Lynn. She follows Lynn everywhere and looks to her for advice and knowledge. Lynn teaches her about everything include how the sky the ocean, and people’s eyes are special to the injustice of racial prejudice. The two girls dream of buying a house for the family someday. sometime feeling chilled to the bone especially describe the Lynn develops lymphoma, It is heartbreaking ,and the whole family begins to fall apart ,it is up to Katie to find a way to remind them all that there is always something glittering Kira-Kira in the life and future.

Kira-Kira is a beautifully written story about the bond that exists between two sisters and the joys and struggles that they go through as they grow up. This book made me laugh and it made me cry and I was throughly invested in the lives of the Takeshima family. There is a reason that this book won the Newbury Award and its a story that I think will stand the test of time and delight readers for years to come.
