Is seventh lunar month again and this is the Chinese ghost festival as well. Some people say that the ghosts dominate the island of Taiwan during this moth, therefore people follower the traditional custom. They hold some special celebrations with offerings lay out to feed and appease the isolated souls and wandering lost ghost.
When I was a little girl and live in countryside the elder always warned the children to keep the traditional rule in the seventh lunar month. The swimming and tour is prohibits for children and they should be stay the home when the sunset in order to avoid the wandering lost ghost. When the dark is coming the mothers should be put away the cloths never let it on the clotheshorse during the night ,because the people think the ghost will attach the cloths then kill the kids. In my childhood this mouth is full of the afraid and excited.
Even the traditional rules maybe bring some of inconvenience to us but in my opinion that is teach us should be regard the unknown world.
